3-1. LUBRICATION METHODS.
a.  General. Keep all lubricants in closed containers and store in a clean, dry place away from external heat. Keep
container covers clean and allow no dirt, dust, or other foreign material to mix with the lubricants. Keep all lubrication
equipment clean and ready for use.
b  Cleaning. Keep all external parts not requiring lubrication free of lubricants. Before lubricating the equipment,
wipe all lubrication points free of dirt and grease.  Clean all lubrication points after servicing to prevent the
accumulation of foreign matter.
c.  Lubrication Points. Service the lubrication points at the proper intervals as specified in the lubrication procedure
(para. 3-2). The interval specified is based on normal operation. Modifications of the recommended interval may be
required when operating under unusual conditions.
