b. Cleaning.
(1) Remove all buildup of dirt, grease, etc. by wiping with a soft cloth (Appendix E, item 3).
WARNING
Cleaning Solvent, Federal Specification P-D-680, is toxic and flammable. Use solvent only in
a well-ventilated area. Avoid prolonged breathing of fumes. Keep solvent away from flames.
Do not use in excessive amounts. Avoid skin contact.
(2) Clean using a clean, soft cloth (Appendix E, item 3) or a medium bristle brush (Appendix E, item 4) and
cleaning solvent (Appendix E, item 2).
(3) Allow to dry.
c. Inspection.
(1) Inspect for stripped threads.
(2) Inspect for signs of obvious damage.
d. Repair. Replace a defective drain cock.
e. Installation. Install the drain cock (1, Figure 3-36).
NOTE
Wrap threads with teflon tape (Appendix E, item 8).
