Check level of fluid in excessively storage battery (1). When level corroded storage drops to lower mark, replenish battery leads or with distilled water to upper post, or power-on mark. Inspect storage battery (1) light does not come for corrosion of storage battery on indicating leads (2). Turn switch key to inoperable switch ON position. Insure power-on key. light comes on indicating switch key operable. CAUTION If battery fluid low, engine may not start because too little electricity is reaching starter motor. Always keep fluid level within upper and lower limits. If too much battery fluid, fluid may spill and corrode surrounding parts. NOTE If starter motor is turned for too long, battery will go dead and failure of diesel engine to restart properly will occur. Always leave switch key turned in ON position while diesel engine is running so gages are working. 2-19
