2-17. Operation in Different Altitudes. The procedures for operating the Diving Air Compressor are the same as under
usual conditions including the following special instructions.
a.
Engine power output will decrease by about 3 1/2 percent for each 1000 feet above sea level. The compressor
will have a similar loss of operation efficiency.
b.
Service the engine/compressor air cleaner often to minimize this loss of efficiency.
2-18. Operation in Extreme Cold.
a.
Keep fuel tank full to minimize moisture.
b.
Check hoses and lines for cracks or other cold weather damage.
c.
Service engine with oil conforming to MIL-L-46167, Grade Arctic.
d.
Service compressor with oil conforming to MIL-H-17672, MIL SYM 2135-TH (below 20°F (-7 C).
e.
When pressing START button, activate the valve lever on starting aid for two seconds.
