Foreign substances within an assembly could result in equipmentfailure and possible injury or death to personnel.Ensure that all air lines and components removed or openings into the air system that providesbreathing air are covered with a plastic bag and secured with a rubber band or taped shut. Smallcomponents should be stored in a plastic bag and sealed. Failure to do so will cause air systemto become contaminated and could result in injury or death to the diver.(2) Remove piston (1) from sleeve (2).(3) Clean cylinder (3) and piston (1) and sleeve (2) in accordance with Chapter 4, Section VII.(4) Inspect cylinder (3) walls for cracks, scoring or damage.
