6-6. General. This section contains maintenance procedures for general support maintenance personnel as authorized
by the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC), Appendix B, of this manual. Disassemble the compressor unit only to the
extent necessary to repair or replace a defective component of the compressor. Ensure all tools and parts are clean and
free of oil, dirt, grease, rust, or other contaminants when performing maintenance on air compressor. After working on
engine assembly, clean all tools thoroughly before performing maintenance on air compressor. Contaminants in the air
system can be extremely hazardous to diving personnel.

Calibrate.

Inspect gage for date of last calibration.
(2)
Have the gage calibrated if date of last calibration is more than 540 days. Ensure gage is calibrated
in accordance with procedures in TB 9-4220-216-35, Section IV.
