TM 5-4310-389-14
3.
Check both terminals to ground for open circuit.
k.
Condensate Heater Relay.
1.
Inspect light bulb.
2.
Check fuse (32V, SFE20) located between ammeter and solenoid.
3.
Test ON/OFF switch for proper operation.
4.
Isolate and test solenoid relay directly under ammeter.
5.
If steps 1 to 4 above indicate no problems, proceed with the following steps.
6.
Remove two screws off heater element cover located on bottom of condensation block.
7.
Pull back cover to expose wires.
8.
Check two wires going into heating element. Resistance should exist.
l.
Condensate Drain.
1.
Connect multimeter to condensate drain wires (isolated).
2.
If open circuit exists, replace solenoid normal reading (15 to 20 ohms).
m.
Run Solenoid (Visual Test).
1.
Perform operator PMCS up to the point of turning the switch to the START position (paragraph 2-9).
2.
Watch the run solenoid when engaging the starter. As the engine turns over, the solenoid should move to the
RUN position (move towards the front of the engine).
3.
If solenoid moves toward the front of the engine, stop and proceed to Table 3-2. If solenoid does not move,
notify Direct Support Maintenance.
n.
The 4th Stage Temperature Sensor.
1.
Disconnect electrical connection going to the sensor unit.
2.
Using a multimeter, test for open circuit (defective sensor will read a grounded circuit).
