Remove cover (2) with gasket (3) and filter element (4).

Unscrew hexnut (5) of hex bolt (1) and take off element (4).
d
Wash element (4) in clean diesel fuel and allow to thoroughly drip-dry.
e
When reassembling, ensure correct positioning of gasket (3) for cover (2) and gasket (6) of element (4).
NOTE
During trial run following reassembly, check oil pressure and tightness of filter mountings.
