OIL LEVELS. ADO OIL ONLY IF ON LOW MARK WHEN
NOT RUNNING (USE SAE 1 SW-40 ABOVE + 10F, SAE
5W-20 OELOW + 10F). CHECK FUEL LEVEL (MINIMUM
CETANE NUMBER: 4S).
STARTING ABOVE 32°F (O°C)
1. CLOSE SERVICE VALVES ANO MANUAL ELOWOOWN
VALVE SO THAT UNIT CAN BUILD UP FULL AIR PRES.
SURE.
2. MAKE SURE THE MANUAL STOP HANDLE IS PUSHEO
AU THE WAY IN.
3. PRESS SYPASS SWITCH ANO START SWITCH SIM.
ULTANEOUSIY.
RELEASE START SWITCH WHEN EN.
GINE STARTS. RELEASE BYPASS SWITCH WHEN 01S.
CHARGE PRESSURE REACHES APPROXIMATELY 40 psi

NOTE: 00 NOT OPERATE STARTING MOTOR MORE THAN
30 SECONOS AT ONE TIME, PERMIT STARTING MOTOR TO
COOL 90 SECONOS SETWEEN STARTING ATTEMPTS.

3. OPEN MANUAL BLOWOOWN vALVE ANO SERVICE
VALVE.
4. PULL ETHER INJECT HANDLE oNCE. PUSH 8YPASS
SWITCH ANO START SWITCH SIMULTANEOUSLY. RE.
LEASE START SWITCH WHEN ENGINE STARTS. RE.
LEASE BYPASS SWITCH WHEN ENGINE OIL PRESSURE
REACHES 20 psi ( 1.4 kpicm). PULL ETHER INJECT IF
ENGINE FALTERS 8UT NOT MORE THAN ONCE EVERY
1 S SECONOS.

NOTE: IF TOO MUCH ETHER IS INJECTEO SEVERE ENGINE
OAMAGE COULD RESULT. 00 NOT OPERATE STARTER
MOTOR MORE THAN 30 SECONOS AT ONE TIME. PERMlT
STARTER MOTOR TO COOL 90 SECONOS BETWEEN
AmEMMS.
5. ONCE UNIT HAS STARTEO CLOSE MANUAL EILOW-
00WN VALVE GRAOUALLY TO KEEP ENGINE RUN-
NING. ALLOW UNIT TO WARM UP TEN MINuTES.
6. PUSH SERVICE AIR BUTTON. CLOSE SERVICE VALVE
SLOWLY UNTIL UNIT IS AT IOLE WITH VALVE CLOSEO. IF
SAFETY VALVE OPENS, OPEN SERVICE VALVE COM-
PLETELY. CLOSE VALVE UNTIL 110 psi (7.5 kplcm)
OISCHARGE PRESSURE IS REACHEO. LET UNIT RUN
FOR 5 MINUTES. VALVE CAN NOW 8E CLOSEO ANO
SERVICE LINES ATTACHEO.

STOPPING
1. CLOSE All SERVICE VALVES SLOWLY. ALLOW ENGINE
TO RUN Ar IDLE FOR 3 MINUTES TO REOUCE ENGINE
TEMPERATURE.
2. PULL STOP CABLE ANO HOLO UNTIL ENGINE COMES
TO A COMPLETE STOP.
3. WHEN ENGINE STOPS, AUTOMATIC BLOWOOWN
VALVE SHOULO RELIEVE ALL PRESSURE FROM
RECEIVER.5EPARATOR,
NOTE: NEVER ALLOW UNIT TO SIT STOPPEO WITH PRES-
SURE IN RECEIVER-SEPARATOR SYSTEM.
