Clean bushings of chips with compressed air.

Position connecting rod (4) in piston (3) and install piston pin (2) and secure two retainers (1) using piston pin
retainer installer.
NOTE
A drop in the gage reading indicates air leakage at the retainer.

Place suction cup of leak detector over the retainer and hand operate lever to pull vacuum of 10 inches on the
gage. If leakage exist, replace retainer.
NOTE
New piston rings must be used when piston is removed.

Using piston ring assembly tool, install two oil control rings lower half (10), two oil control rings upper half (9), two
expanders (8), and four compression rings (7).
