Replace. (figure 6-17)

Remove retaining ring (1).
(2)
Press camshaft (2) out of bearing (3) and remove preformed packing (4). Discard preformed packing (4).
(3)
Press bearing (3) out of gear cover (5).
(4)
Press new bearing (3) into gear cover (5).
(5)
Install new preformed packing (4) and press new camshaft (2) into bearing (3) and secure with retaining
ring (1).
