1. OperatingInstructionsforAirCompressor(ModelNo.3LE6A). The air compressor is designed for automaticoperation through a pressure switch without damaging the air compressor or the piping and valves. Procedures forenergizing and operating the air compressor follow:Energizing and Operating the Air Compressor.a. Check all electrical wiring for loose connections.b. Check that oil level is in middle of the sightglass. If oil level is low. fill to proper level. See LubricationInstructions for the proper oil to be used.c. Ensure all air outlet valves in the system are closed.d. Open drain valves one at a time in the system. Drain any condensation and close valves.e. Place appropriate circuit breaker to the ON position and start the air compressor by placing switch on aircompressor controller to the ON position.f. Verify proper operation of the compressor pressure switch. Switch is set to stop the compressor when pressurein accumulator reaches 120 psi and to start the compressor when pressure drops to 60 psi.g. To shut down automatic operation of the compressor, place switch on controller to OFF position.h. Check all air valves and piping for leaks.2. PreventiveMaintenanceChecksandServicesForAirCompressor(Model3LE6A). Routine maintenance ensurestrouble-free operation. When performing a preventive maintenance check, always perform all of the shorter intervalchecks that precede it.Interval/Running HoursCheck/ServiceNoteDailyCheck oil level.Refer to Lubrication Instructions, paragraph 3.WeeklyDrain Condensate from air tank by openingdraincock in bottom of tank.WeeklyInspect air filter.Clean with compressed airor replace if necessary.MonthlyCheck operation of safety valve by pullingIf air does not escape fromtest link.the tank, replace safety valve.MonthlyClean unit.Remove dust or dirt from cooling fins.MonthlyCheck that pressure switch operates properly.
