Fully lubricate piston
w i t h o i l .
Align con-
necting rod inside piston
and press in pin.
Properly center and
i n s t a l l l o c k r i n g s.
Install new rings (if
56,57,
old ones were removed)

on their respective

pistons using a ring
expander.
S l i d e o il
wiper rings on first,
followed by the
compression rings.
Fully lubricate pistons
and rings with oil.
Use an appropriately sized
piston ring compressor to
fully compress rings.
Fully lubricate each
cylinders walls with oil.
Slide the piston assembly
into its respective cylinder
( f r o m t h e b o t t o m ) . -
Install new cylinder
gaskets on the crankcase.
CAUTION
Make sure that oil dippers on connecting rods
p o i n t d o w n w a r d.
Rotate flywheel to assure
proper dipping action and clearance.

Install the h i g h p r e s s u re
c y l i n d e r f i r s t , t a k i n g
care to properly slide
the connecting rod over
the crankshaft-connecting
rod bushing first.
Align the cylinder and
fasten to crankcase.
Torque the capscrews to
5 0 f t - l b s .

Install the low pressure
c y l i n d e r.
