E-1. SCOPE This appendix lists expendable supplies and materials required to operate and
m a i n t a i n the air compressor. These items are authorized by CTA 50-970, Expendable Items
( E x c e p t Medical Class V, Repair parts and Heraldic Items).

COLUMNS
a.
C o l u m n I - Item Number. This number is assigned to the entry in the listing and is
r e f e r e n c e d in the narrative instructions of this manual to identify the material (e.g., "Use dry
c l e a n i n g solvent, item I, App E").
b.
C o l u m n 2- Level. This column identifies the lowest level of maintenance authorized
to use the item listed.

c.
C o l u m n 3- National Stock Number. This column identifies the National Stock
N u m b e r assisgned to the item. The National Stock Number should be used to request or
r e q u i s i t i o n the item.
d.
C o l u m n 4- Description. This column indicates the Federal item name and, if
r e q u i r e d , a description of the item. The last line indicates the Federal Supply Code for
M a n u f a c t u r e r (FSCM) in parentheses followed by the part number.

Column 5- Unit of Measure (U/M). This column indicates the measure used in
p e r f o r m i n g the actual maintenance function. This measure is expressed by a two character
a l p h a b e t i c a l abbreviation (e.g., ea in., pr). If the unit of measure differs from the unit of issue,
r e q u e s t or requisition the lowest unit of issue that will satisfy the requirement.
