Preformed Packing
Replace. (figure 4-26)
(1)
Remove two nuts (1) and remove valve cover (2), gasket (3), and two preformed packings (4). Discard
preformed packings (4).
(2)
Ensure gasket mounting surface on cylinder head (5) is clean and free of old gasket material.
(3)
Install two new preformed packings (4), new gasket (3), and new valve cover (2) and secure with two nuts
(1).
