Materials/parts:
Gasket (0337-1689)
INSPECT
a
Check the exhaust manifold for visible cracks or damage.
b
Look for black exhaust soot for indication of leakage.
REPAIR
a
Remove nuts and washers that secure U-bolt (1, figure 3-37) to compressor frame. Remove U-bolts.

Remove nuts and washers that secure U-bolt (1) to spark arrestor and muffler (3), and remove spark arrestor and
tail piece.
c
Remove nuts that secure muffler/exhaust manifold to engine.
d
Remove exhaust manifold assembly.
e
Discard gasket.
f
Replace defective parts and gaskets.
g
Install new gaskets and exhaust manifold assembly.
h
Tighten nuts that secure exhaust manifold to engine.
i
Reinstall spark arrestor and tail pipe.
j
Install two U-bolts at the spark arrestor, and tighten.
