Insufficient fuel.
Add fuel.

Fuel filter assembly dirty or defective
Clean or replace fuel filter assembly.

Open vent valve TM 3-4310-100-10).

ENGINE OVERHEATS
Improper air circulation.
Clean cylinder head (TM 5-2805-256-14).

LOW AIR PRESSURE OR LONG FILL TIME
Step 1.
Engine operating below rated speed.
Increase engine speed (TM 3-4310-100-10).
Step 2.
Loose connections or leaks.
Tighten loose connections and check for leaks.
Step 3.
Worn compressor.
Report to direct support maintenance.
5.
COMPRESSOR SMOKING (OVERHEATING)
Step 1.
Improper air circulation.
Operate compressor in open area. Remove objects obstructing free flow of air to
compressor fan. Clean mud and dirt from cooling fins of cylinder heads and aftercooler.
Step 2.
Bent or broken fins on intercoolers.
Report to direct support maintenance.
Step 3.
Fan loose or broken.
Report to direct support maintenance.
6.
EXCESSIVE VIBRATION
Step 1.
Mounting bolts loose.
Tighten bolts.
Step 2.
Motor running rough.
Adjust carburetor (TM 5-5805-256-14).
Step 3.
Fan bent or out of balance.
Report to direct support maintenance.
