General. Operator PMCS are performed to ensure that the compressor unit is ready for operation at all times.Perform the checks and services at the specified intervals.a. WhileyouOperate.Always keen in mind the CAUTIONS and WARNINGS. Perform your during (D) PMCSwhen the equipment is being used in its intended mission.c. AfteryouOperate.Be sure to perform your after (A) PMCS after the equipment has been taken out of itsmission mode or returned to its containment area.d. IfyourEquipmentFailstoOperate.Troubleshoot with proper equipment. Report any deficiencies using theproper forms. See DA Pam 738-750.2-5. Purpose of PMCS Table. The purpose of the PMCS table is to provide a systematic method of inspecting andservicing the equipment. In this way, small defects can be detected early before they become a major problem causingthe equipment to fail to complete its mission. The PMCS table is arranged with the individual PMCS procedures listed insequence under assigned intervals. The most logical time (before, during, or after operation) to perform each proceduredetermines the interval to which it is assigned. Make a habit of doing the checks in the same order each time andanything wrong will be seen quickly. See paragraphs 2-6 and 2-7 for an explanation of the columns in table 2-1.2-6. Explanation of Columns. The following is a list of the PMCS table column headings with a description of theinformation found In each column.a. ItemNo. This column shows the sequence in which the checks and services are to be performed, and isused to identify the equipment area on the Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet, DA Form 2404.b. Interval. This column shows a dot () when each check is to be done.c. ItemtobeInspected/Procedures. This column identifies the general area or specific part where the checkor service is to be done, and explains how to do them.d. EquipmentisNotReady/AvailableIf. See paragraph 2-8.2-5
