4-4. GENERAL.
The 250 CFM Trailer-Mounted Compressor Unit must reinspected on a regular basis so that defects are found before
they result unserious damage, failure, or injury to personnel. This section, Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services
(PMCS), contains systematic instructions on inspections, adjustments, and corrections to be performed by organizational
maintenance.
4-5. INTERVALS.
Organizational maintenance shall perform PMCS, found in Table 4-1, at the following intervals:
(1)
Quarterly (Q), once every three months.
(2)
Semiannually (S), once every six months.
(3)
Hours (H), after the prescribed number of hours of operation.
4-6. REPORTING REPAIRS.
All defects shall be reported on DA Form 2404, Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet, immediately
after completing PMCS and before taking corrective action. These defects shall also be reported in the equipment log.
4-7. GENERAL PMCS PROCEDURES.
a.
While performing specific PMCS procedures, ensure that items are correctly assembled, secure, serviceable,
adequately lubricated, and not worn or leaking as defined below:
(1)
An item is CORRECTLY ASSEMBLED when it is in proper position and all parts are present.
(2)
Wires, nuts, hoses, fittings, or attaching hardware are SECURE when they cannot be easily removed by
hand or by wrench.
(3)
An item is SERVICEABLE if it is not worn beyond repair or likely to fail before the next scheduled
inspection.
(4)
An item is ADEQUATELY LUBRICATED if it has been lubricated in accordance with Chapter 3, Section I.
(5)
An item is WORN if there is too much play between joining parts, if item does not meet wear specifications
provided, or when warning, caution, and data stencil markings, plates, or decals are not legible.
