Check for sticking foot valve.
Disassemble pump as necessary to free sticking foot valve (para 6-2).
Step 2. Check for faulty low pressure valve.
Disassemble pump as necessary to inspect valve and its seat on the piston nut. Replace valve or piston nut (para 6-2).

Check for faulty low pressure leather cup.
Disassemble pump as necessary to inspect leather cup. Replace if deteriorated or not pliable (para 6-2).
2. TRANSFER PUMP DOES NOT OPERATE.

Check for faulty packings on intake and exhaust valve stems.
