4-4. UNPACKING.
a.
Remove all crating, blocking, and protective material.
CAUTION
Using an overhead lifting device and slings without appropriate spreader bars can result in
container/equipment damage.
b.
Using a forklift truck or other suitable material handling equipment, lift the Air Compressor and remove the crate
base.
c.
Store the container and packing material for future use.
4-5. PROCESSING UNPACKED EOUIPMENT.
a.
Inspect the equipment for damage incurred during shipment. If the equipment has been damaged in any way,
report the damage on SF 364, Report of Discrepancy.
b.
Check the equipment against the packing slip to see if the shipment is complete. Report any discrepancies in
accordance with the instructions on DA Pam 738-750 or DA Pam 738-751.
4-6. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS/PREPARATION FOR USE.
a.
Connect Battery Cables. The Air Compressor is shipped with the battery cables disconnected from the battery
posts.

Open roadside access doors (Figure 4-1, 1).
(2)
Unclip latches (2) and remove box cover (3).
(3)
Connect wire leads (4) to battery terminals (5). Refer to wire lead tags and (Figure 4-2) for correct hookup.
Wiring diagram (Figure 4-3) may also be used.
