• Air compressor unit frame supported on jackstands.
• General mechanic's tool kit
• Wheels removed (see paragraph 4-67).
• Common no. 1 shop set
• Handbrake cables removed from axle brackets (see
• Suitable lifting device
paragraph 4-65).
Personnel Required: Two
a. REMOVAL
1.
Position suitable lifting device under midpoint of axle (2).
2.
Remove eight nuts (4), four U-bolts (1), and two brackets (3) from axle (2).
3. Lower axle (2) and remove from under air compressor unit.
