Repair. Repair is limited to replacement of defective, damaged, or out-of-tolerance parts.

Installation.
(1)
Install crankshaft gear.
WARNING
Oil fumes or oil can ignite above 380° F (193° C), use a thermometer and do not
exceed 360° F (182° C). Do not allow a flame or heating element to be in direct
contact with the oil. Heat the oil in a well-ventilated area. Plan a safe handling
procedure to avoid burns.

Heat new gear to 360° F (182° C).
(b)
Install Woodruff key in crankshaft. Drive gear onto crankshaft using driver (item 21, section III, appendix
B) (Figure 6-106, 1).

Inspect piston cooling orifices.

Inspect each cooling orifice to make sure it is not plugged or damaged.
